Oftentimes, I think, we speak of needing to have Faith --
When what we really mean is Trust.
In many ways, Faith is easier to embrace, as a gift that is abstract.
But, the reality of actually trusting in the Lord -- here and now --
That is another effort altogether!
How often have we said we beleived in God -- But secretly, we weren't
Really sure we could count on God to remember us in the huge world?
Jesus often spoke of having the Faith and Trust of a child.
On one such occasion, Jesus used the example of the "lilies of the field"
To illustrate how deeply God cares for us.
Jesus reminded His disciples that not even King Solomon in his royal
Garments was dressed as magnificently as the lilies God created.
So, too, Jesus said -- God would care for us.
We are told in the Book of Proverbs:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding."
Truly trusting God means to guard against worry and anxiety about anything --
Even though it may seem foolish -- even impossible -- to our human minds.
As Jesus said to Jarius: "Fear is useless; what is needed is Trust."
