Matt's highly anticipated new album is finally here, and it delivers. It exceeds every expectation. As one industry insider put it, it "crackles with energy." A musical testament to God's overflowing blessings, its 14 new songs speak powerfully of what it means to be Christian in the third millennium.
Two of the biggest surprises are "Come to the Water" and "Adoration." You just wouldn't expect to find "Tantum Ergo," a traditional Eucharistic hymn, and a 1978 John Foley song here. But Matt pulls it off - and then some. His intense, electric, full-blooded versions take these classics to a new level - without squandering any of the original reverence. Matt burst onto the contemporary Christian music scene with this outstanding debut album. Mixing alternative rock styles and gentle ballads, The End and the Beginning is packed with slick, superbly recorded songs that promise to top the charts. Fortunately, this style doesn't come at the expense of sincerity and devotion.
"Love Has Come" opens the album with a big, energetic sound marked by driving drums, a steady groove and excellent guitar work. His spellbinding "Litany" was used in the Papal Evening Prayer at World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto, where Matt was a featured performer. "You Know Who I Am" was co-written by friend and mentor Tom Booth, who sings and plays bass and percussion on several more... Item #311246

Matt's sophomore effort doesn't disappoint. Welcome to Life is a gutsy, sophisticated collection of brilliant songs that ex[plore a profound relationship with God, and a mastery of diverse musical styles.
Exploring the Scriptures and the ups-and-downs of his own spiritual journey, Matt praises his Redeemer with a poetry that's not forced or syrupy. "Set Me As a Seal" stands out. This drop-dead gorgeous duet blends Matt's distinctive, gritty voice with Jenny Pixler's silky one in a testament to the "unquenchable" flame of God's love. Well produced and unabashedly Catholic in its devotion, Welcome to Life is a delicious, soul-satisfying listening experience.
